In honor of members of the American Homebrewers Association voting Russian River‘s Pliny the Elder as America’s best commercial beer, I thought today’s question should involve the brewery. Pliny the Younger is a triple IPA that Russian River puts out once a year. It used to sell out gradually over several weeks, maybe two months. Then, one year, everything changed: It sold out in less than a single day. Name that year.
